The Lakeland University women's volleyball team is home for the first time this season and will face a challenge right off the bat as it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The first of eight home dates for the Muskies is against a UWSP team that is just outside the AVCA/NCAA Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll after the first weekend of competition. The Pointers won two of their first three matches this past weekend, including a three-set sweep of nationally ranked Chicago on the road Friday.

The Muskies enter with a 2-2 record after splitting four matches at the UW-Whitewater Volleyball Invitational this past weekend. Lakeland defeated Carleton (Minn.) and MSOE while falling to UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout, including a three-set loss to the nationally ranked host Warhawks. Shannon Bishop (Sr.-River Grove, Ill.) was named to the all-tournament team, while seniors Natalie Bova (Chicago, Ill.) and Erin Iwanski (St. Francis, Wis.) and sophomore Sydney Pingitore (Kenosha, Wis.) were among those posting career highs over the weekend, including Pingitore piling up 21 digs against Carleton.
