The Lakeland University men's wrestling team earned its first dual meet win of the season with a 27-7 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday nighat at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
Tyler Salvino (
Fr.-Lombard, Ill.),
Kyle Reitmeier (
So.-Armstrong, Ill.) and
Josh Becker (
Jr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) all recorded wins by decision to lead the Muskies. Lakeland also won three matches by forfeit to close out its home schedule with the dual victory.
Salvino scored a 10-4 decision over Gianni Rago at 133 pounds. Reitmeier edged Chris Botzoc 7-5 at 184 lbs., and Becker claimed a 4-0 win by decision over Evan Carter at 197 lbs.
Nat Schroeter (
Fr.-South Milwaukee, Wis.) also just missed a victory at 149 lbs., losing by a 7-6 decision to Jimmy Cushman.
David Aragon (
Fr.-West Allis, Wis.) also competed for Lakeland and was defeated by major decision, falling to Nick Rapp 16-6 at 165 lbs.
The Muskies now get ready for the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional held Feb. 28-29.
