Lakeland girls basketball camp again scheduled for June

Registrations are currently being accepted for the Lakeland Women's Basketball Muskie Scoring Camp, to be held June 19-21 on campus inside the Wehr Center.

The camp is open to girls entering grades 3-11 in the 2020-21 school year. It will include five sessions over three days, with sessions focusing on the development of individual skills along with team play. Campers can expect hands-on attention from experienced coaches and players from the Lakeland women's team that has been among the top teams in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference the last four years.

The camp is designed for young players who wish to prepare themselves for playing competitive junior-high, high school, and college basketball. This camp will emphasize all aspects of becoming a better offensive player.

Focus will be on proper shooting form, footwork, moving with and without the ball, and free throw shooting. The goal of this camp is to help campers improve their overall offensive game and maximize their skills at the offensive end of the court. Both individual and team play will be improved by attending this camp. Many of the same drills and techniques used by the Lakeland staff will be taught.

Cost is $155 for commuter campers or $225 for overnight campers. A 15% early bird discount will be offered to those who register by June 1, 2020. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt, and awards will be given out daily for contest winners.

Registration is available online at https://connect.lakeland.edu/register/2020GirlsBBallCamp.
