Series history: Wisconsin Lutheran leads 18-14-1
Wisconsin Lutheran is one of the Muskies' most-played opponents, and this marks the 34th meeting all-time between the two schools, whose history dates back to their days together in the Lake Michigan Conference. WLC has won the last three meetings, including a 5-1 win on Oct. 2, 2019, in their most recent matchup. Jenna Borts scored a goal to tie it at 1-1 just over two minutes into the second half, but the Warriors responded with four goals in a span of less than 15 minutes to pull away for the victory. The Muskies last defeated Wisconsin Lutheran nearly 4 1/2 years ago with a 3-0 win at home on Sept. 28, 2016. Karisa Rowland posted the shutout in goal in that match, stopping seven shots for her first collegiate shutout.

Lakeland last time out: Defeated Alverno 3-2 Sunday
The Muskies got the better of a high-scoring first half and then held steady in a scoreless second half to win their season opener and first game in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference North Division play, as the NACC has split teams into two divisions for this spring only with the scheduled altered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Amanda Buckler scored a pair of goals, including a penalty kick in the 28th minute for a 3-0 lead. Marlen Reyes Robelo also added a goal in her collegiate debut. A disjointed game that featured seven yellow cards between the teams and three penalty kicks settled down in the second half, when Erin Tomlinson made three saves to back up Haley Rich, who made six saves in the first half. The match was Lakeland's first since Oct. 27, 2019.

Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Lost at Edgewood 2-0 Sunday
The Warriors also played their season opener on Sunday but lost to the Eagles, who scored twice in the second half for the NACC North Division win. Edgewood scored the game's first goal in the 51st minute and added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute. Lauren Butler made three saves in goal for WLC, while Katie Wasiak (four shot attempts, two on goal) and Signe Kind (three shot attempts, all on goal) generated much of the offense for the Warriors. Lutheran played Edgewood evenly in the field, with both teams accounting for 10 shot attempts, but Eagles goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer made seven saves.

About the Warriors: Wisconsin Lutheran finished 4-14 overall and 3-9 in the NACC's most recent season in 2019, placing 10th of 13 teams in the conference. The Warriors have a new coach this year in Maggy Waech, a native of West Bend, Wis., a former player at NAIA Cardinal Stritch and a graduate of Concordia Wisconsin. WLC returns six starters from 2019, including Miriam Carreno and Gabriella Metten, who combined for 11 goals and six assists that season.

Bucky power: Amanda Buckler's two goals against Alverno was her second two-goal match of her collegiate career. The junior from Sheridan, Wyo., also scored two goals and also added two assists in a win over Mount Mary in her freshman season in 2018. Buckler is now up to seven goals and six assists in her Muskies career for a total of 20 points, most of any current Lakeland player.
