The Lakeland University men's soccer team plays its last non-conference game of the season and will recognize the team's lone senior at halftime when it hosts Grinnell (Iowa) College Saturday at noon at Taylor Field.

Lakeland and Grinnell are meeting for the first time ever in men's soccer today. The Pioneers of Grinnell, Iowa, are members of the Midwest Conference, the westernmost member of the conference located in central Iowa. The Muskies are facing a school from Iowa for the first time since falling at Coe College 4-0 Sept. 6, 2019 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Lakeland last time out: Won at Edgewood 7-0 Wednesday
The Muskies earned their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference win of the season, blitzing the Eagles with five goals in the second half on the way to their largest margin of victory since 2009.

Grinnell last time out: Won at Lawrence 1-0 yesterday
The Pioneers stayed unbeaten (5-0-1) in the Midwest Conference and stretched their unbeaten streak to seven matches. Dylan Maddux scored the game's lone goal in the 25th minute, his fifth goal of the season. Carter Benson picked up the shutout in goal with three saves in the game. The win was also the 150th in the career of Grinnell head coach Brian Jaworski, in his 19th year leading the program.
Senior Day, singular: The Muskies are honoring the team's lone senior in today's match.
Alessandro Bianchi is the only senior on the team's huge roster of 47 players. A native of Italy, he came to the United States as an exchange student and graduated from Racine Horlick High School. At Lakeland he has been a four-year starter and has appeared in 43 career matches. He also was an honorable mention all-NACC pick last year and is a three-time recipient of the NACC Scholar-Athlete Award.
