Series history: All-time records are incomplete, but this is the 54th meeting between Lakeland and Edgewood since 1991. The Muskies hold a 32-21 lead in the series in that time and had won five straight until the Eagles dominated in a 25-15, 25-19, 25-10 sweep last season Oct. 27, 2021. Lakeland's last wins over Edgewood came in a doubleheader April 1, 2021 in that year's abbreviated spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Muskies sweeping both matches in three sets at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium. The series has been dominated by some long streaks; Edgewood won ten straight from 2010-16, but before that Lakeland won 18 straight over the Eagles from 2000-09.

Lakeland last time out: Defeated Dominican 3-0 Saturday
It was a happy Senior Day for the Muskies as they started strong and handled the Stars 25-14, 25-17, 26-24 to win their fifth straight match. Susana Stevens (11 kills) and Katie Metzler (10) combined for 21 kills and the Muskies hit a solid .269 for the match. Lakeland never trailed in the first two sets and then came back from an early 6-1 deficit in the third set to finish the sweep and defeat Dominican for just the second time in 14 meetings and the first time since 2016. Brelynn Scoles chipped in eight kills, Emily Duchow also finished with 30 assists and three block assists and Maeve Sullivan added 14 digs. Lakeland has won three straight in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, all via sweep. Stevens also Tuesday was recognized for her performance on the weekend, as she was named NACC Offensive Player of the Week.

Edgewood last time out: Won at MSOE 3-0 Saturday
The Eagles won in a similar manner as the Muskies on Saturday, owning the first two sets and then pulling out a close third set to complete the sweep. Abigail Hoffmann finished with 11 kills and Hannah Siebert added nine kills to lead the attack, and the Raiders hit a negative mark (-.027) as a team as Lea Bunch piled up 17 digs and Edgewood also added six team blocks. Bunch also was recognized by the NACC on Tuesday as the conference's defensive player of the week.

The Eagles come in with a similar record as Lakeland overall and in conference and like the Muskies have faced a tough non-conference schedule. Edgewood opened the season playing ranked teams in three of its first four matches and knocked off No. 24 Transylvania (Ky.), and the Eagles have also faced five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams, posting wins over UW-Stout and UW-River Falls and going to five sets against nationally ranked UW-Whitewater.
