The Lakeland University women's volleyball team enters the postseason on a roll and goes on the road for its first match when it travels to face Concordia University Wisconsin in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night in Mequon.

Series history:Â Lakeland and Concordia are long-time rivals in many sports, and volleyball is no exception. The two teams have been meeting regularly since the 1970s. The Falcons have been dominant in the series in recent years, winning 12 straight including a four-set win this year. The Muskies won the opening set before CUW came back to post an 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-18 victory back on Sept. 30. Maycee Karpfinger (16) and Ashley Habermehl (13) combined for 29 kills for the Falcons, while
Susana Stevens led Lakeland with 13 kills. The Muskies' last win over the Falcons came in 2013 when they scored a hat trick that year, sweeping three matches including a five-set match in the NACC Tournament quarterfinals.
NACC Tournament history: The Muskies and Falcons have met a total of three times in the NACC Tournament, with Lakeland holding a 2-1 lead in those matches. Concordia won the most recent meeting with a four-set victory in the semifinals in 2019, while the Muskies won in 2008 and 2013, including the quarterfinal win in 2013 and a four-set win in the 2008 championship match that clinched an NCAA Division III Tournament berth. Lakeland is 13-11 all-time in 15 NACC tourney appearances, including three championships, while CUW is 14-13 all-time in the tourney in 16 appearances, with two titles.
Lakeland last time out: Defeated Loras (Iowa) 3-0 Friday
The Muskies finished the regular season on a good note, sweeping the Duhawks 25-15, 25-22, 25-23 in a non-conference match. Lakeland was red-hot on the attack on its Senior Night, hitting a season-best .369 with 47 kills and just nine errors.
Susana Stevens finished with 12 kills,
Brelynn Scoles added 11 kills and
Katie Metzler and
Kelly Swope both added eight kills each. The Muskies finished the regular season winning nine of their final 10 matches.
Concordia last time out: Lost to St. Norbert 3-1 Thursday
The Falcons fell to the Green Knights at home 31-33, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13 in the game that decided the third and fourth seeds in the NACC tourney. CUW won an extra-long first set but could get no more, hitting .032 for the match. Mayce Karpfinger led the Falcons with 17 kills and Stellar Zarling added 11 kills, but the Falcons continued some late season struggles with losses in six of their last 10 matches.
