Series history: Lakeland and Wisconsin Lutheran are longtime opponents in men's soccer, dating back to at least 1982. Complete series records are unavailable, but it is known Wisconsin Lutheran holds a narrow 17-14-3 lead in matches since 1996. The Warriors have controlled the series of late, winning 11 of the last 12 matchups, including a 3-0 victory at home last year. WLC also won the last meeting at Taylor Field, taking a 5-1 victory Oct. 5, 2022. The Muskies snapped a nine-game losing streak to Lutheran in 2021, scoring a 3-1 win in Milwaukee as Michecadet Gethand pulled off a hat trick with all three Lakeland goals.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Aurora 5-1 Friday
The Muskies played on even terms with the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference-leading Spartans for almost the entirety of the first 45 minutes, right up until Aurora took a 2-1 lead with 23 seconds left in the half. The match remained close until the Spartans scored back-to-back goals 12 seconds apart in the 65th minute to pull away. Jordan Davis-Troller scored the goal for Lakeland, scoring on a blast of a free kick in the 37th minute. Zach Heiman made 11 saves in the Muskies' fourth straight loss in a stretch that has included three of the NACC's best teams.

All five of Lakeland's conference losses to date are to teams with a winning record in league play so far. The Muskies also are playing their third straight game at home, part of a stretch of six out of seven games at home this month.

Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Tied Edgewood 0-0 Saturday
The Warriors scratched out a tie against the Eagles at home, holding on despite being outshot 16-3 for the match. Puma Galvan made seven saves as WLC extended its streak without a loss to six games, with a 4-0-2 record in that span.

Wisconsin Lutheran has been one of the surprises of the NACC so far, with a 7-2-2 overall record and an undefeated conference record at 3-0-2 that includes wins over Concordia Wisconsin, Concordia Chicago and Rockford and ties with Edgewood and Marian. Lutheran finished 8-7-3 last year overall and posted a 6-6 league mark to earn the fifth seed in the NACC Tournament.
