Series history:Â 37th meeting, MSOE leads 22-14
Milwaukee School of Engineering is one of Lakeland's most-played opponents. MSOE has won the last six meetings, including a 6-0 victory last year at Taylor Field paced by Rosario Etcheverria Abuin scoring two goals. The Raiders have won the last 17 on the field against the Muskies, though their 2018 win was forfeited after later finding an ineligible player was used. The series has been dominated by three winning streaks. The Raiders won the first six meetings, including the first meeting ever Oct. 28, 1995, and then posted a 10-game winning streak prior to the forfeit in 2018. In between, the Muskies won 13 straight, including their last win on the field over MSOE by a 2-1 score Oct. 10, 2007 when Elisa Waltz and Jacqui Drexler scored goals.
Lakeland last time out: Defeated Rockford 5-0 Saturday
The Muskies finally cashed in for their first win of the season, easily handling the Regents on Senior Day.
Malaya Sperber scored three goals and added an assist as part of her first collegiate hat trick.
Mikayla Belasco also added a goal and an assist,
Ava Neils scored her first collegiate goal and
Elizabeth Brown,
Jenny Champney and
Ingrid Steinbock all posted their first collegiate assists. Lakeland dominated possession throughout, outshooting Rockford 27-1, including Sperber all over the field all game long and finishing with 13 shot attempts (eight on goal). The Muskies honored seniors
Janae Kilsdonk,
Brianna Love and
Allison Solberg-Kieler before the game and went on to halt a streak of eight straight matches without a goal and recorded their best result since a 1-1 tie against Ripon early in September.
MSOE last time out: Defeated Wisconsin-La Crosse 1-0 last night
The Raiders earned a big win at home last evening in a non-conference match, toppling a UW-La Crosse team sitting just outside the rankings in the NCAA Division III top 25 coaches poll. Elizabeth Kuhn scored the game's lone goal in the 25th minute, and MSOE held the rest of the way to improve to 9-0-1 in its last 10 games. Page Sanchez made 10 saves in goal for the Raiders, including a save with 36 seconds left in the game to preserve the win. MSOE has not lost since Sept. 9 and at 7-0-1 in the NACC is behind only Illinois Tech (8-0) in the standings.
