Series history: 10th meeting, Concordia leads 5-4
The Muskies held the upper hand in the first two seasons the teams played in 2018 and 2019, but the Falcons have won the last five matchups. Concordia won in a sweep last year in Mequon with a 25-15, 25-17, 27-25 victory, and the Falcons also prevailed in three in the last meeting at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium, a 25-20, 25-12, 25-14 winner on March 29, 2023. CUW has won the last three meetings in sweeps and also won five-set matches in 2020 and 2021. Lakeland won the first four meetings between the programs, including two in 2018, the Falcons' first year as a varsity program, and the most recent a four-set victory in Mequon March 30, 2019.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Benedictine 3-1 Saturday
The Muskies got off to a good start against annually one of the best teams in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, winning the first set before the Eagles came back to win 22-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-21. Lakeland led 16-9 in the opening set and held on to take the early lead, but Benedictine played from ahead most of the final three sets and fended off Muskies' runs in all three sets. The Eagles finished with 15 team blocks as Lakeland posted 47 kills but also 33 errors on the attack in the match. Levi Everts led the Muskies with 12 kills and Ben Busalacchi added 10 kills, including his fifth kill of the match giving him 1,000 kills for his career, the first in Lakeland's varsity history to reach that milestone. Chase Anderson also added 39 assists and Busalacchi totaled 11 digs.

Lakeland also recognized a moment of silence before the game for David Bieganski, the father of Muskies freshman Joe Bieganski who passed away on March 1 at the age of 60. The entire Lakeland men's volleyball team attended David Bieganski's funeral the day before facing Benedictine.

Concordia last time out: Won at Concordia Chicago 3-2 Feb. 28
The Falcons have been idle for nearly two weeks, since earning their first NACC win of the season with a 23-25, 26-28, 25-21, 27-25, 15-8 marathon win in River Forest, Ill. CUW has been involved in a number of close matches this season, and the Falcons finally won one with a rally from 2-0 down in the match. Tate Miller finished with 15 kills and 14 digs, Reid Scott totaled 14 kills and 15 digs and Owen Kolozsy added 13 kills and 15 digs. Lucas Beres also posted nine kills plus six blocks and the win snapped an eight-match losing streak for the Falcons.

About the Falcons: Concordia is in somewhat of a rebuilding year after finishing 12-11 a year ago including 8-4 to place fifth in the NACC. The Falcons have three freshmen playing regularly, including their top two hitters (Reid Scott and Owen Kolozsy) as freshmen. Six of CUW's 11 losses have come to nationally ranked teams, and the Falcons have also won at least one set in six of their 11 losses.
