Series history: All-time records are incomplete, but this is the 57th meeting between Lakeland and Edgewood since 1991. The Muskies hold a 33-23 lead in the series in that time, though the Eagles swept Lakeland in three sets in their meeting last year in Madison. The Muskies won the last time the teams met at the Woltzen Gymnasium in 2023, though, handing Edgewood its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss of the season with an impressive three-set sweep. The Eagles won the previous two meetings before that, which was preceded by Lakeland winning five straight in the series from 2017-21. The series has been dominated by some long streaks; Edgewood won ten straight from 2010-16, but before that Lakeland won 18 straight over the Eagles from 2000-09.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Bethel (Minn.) 3-1; Lost to UW-River Falls 3-0 Saturday
The Muskies came up empty in two matches at the UW-Stevens Point Pointer Invitational, falling first to the Royals 19-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-20 before UWRF rolled to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-20 sweep. Samya Hughes was once again a bright spot with 30 kills over two matches, including 18 kills against Bethel. Rylee Equibel added 14 kills against Bethel, Sydney Gay posted 40 assists and Maleigha Kovalaske chipped in 16 digs. The loss to River Falls dropped Lakeland to 1-5 this season against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents in a tough schedule that included the first 14 matches away from home.

Edgewood last time out: Won at Illinois Tech 3-1; Defeated North Central (Ill.) 3-0 Saturday
The Eagles also last played on Saturday, traveling for a triangular hosted by NACC foe Illinois Tech in Chicago. Edgewood topped the Scarlet Hawks in four sets 25-17, 14-25, 25-19, 25-22 and then handled North Central 27-25, 25-15, 25-21 for its fourth straight win. Katie Borchert led the Eagles with 11 kills and four blocks in the win over IIT, and Nida Zukauskaite paced Edgewood with 13 kills and 14 digs in the second match against the Cardinals.

Edgewood already has a win over nationally ranked Dubuque (Iowa) last week, and the Eagles received votes in this week's AVCA/NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. Edgewood is the two-time defending NACC champions, winning both the regular season and tournament crowns the last two years.
