Muskies Punish Pioneers in Women’s Soccer 6-0

The Lakeland College women's soccer team defeated the Pioneers of Wisconsin Platteville today 6-0 using a cast of characters not normally found on the stat sheet. Junior forward Ann Lehecka (McHenry, Illinois) scored two goals in the game's first 20 minutes to give Lakeland all the scoring they would need for the day. Freshman forward Marie Reynolds added two goals and one assist for Lakeland, which improved to 5-6 on the season.

Senior forward Amanda Smith (Neenah), triple teamed and fouled throughout the game, differed to her teammates to pick up the slack. Smith still managed to score a great header on service from Reynolds for her 16th goal of the season and assisted Lehecka on her second goal.

Junior back Briana Plautz (Green Bay) laced in a 20 yard set piece for a goal while assisting on Reynolds second goal of the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Allie Weiss (New Berlin) recorded the shutout in goal. The back line of Plautz, Laura Engel (Appleton), Elisa Waltz (Oakfield), and Kelly Hopfinger (Hustisford) held the Pioneers to just 3 shots for the game.

The Muskie women return to action on the road Wednesday, October 6th under the lights at Uihlein Soccer Complex in Milwaukee against conference foe MSOE at 7 pm.
