In the second day of the Augustana soccer
tournament, the Muskies took on the Vikings of Augustana College. In a
tough defensive battle, the Muskies came out on the loosing end, falling
1-0 to the Vikings.
Augustana came out firing, taking 19 shots in the first
half, 6 of them on goal. The Muskies spent most of their time on defense,
defending against the 38 shots taken during the game by the Vikings. Lakeland
goalie Alli Weiss (New Berlin) finished the game with 13 saves, but the
one that mattered slipped past Alli at the 62 minute mark. The Lakeland
offense was unable to fight back, and the Muskies fell to the Vikings
by a final score of 1-0.
The Muskies will next face Mount Mary College on Wednesday,
September 8th at 5pm. That game will take place at Lakeland College
