Five different Muskies found the back of the net Saturday as the Lakeland women's soccer team downed Alverno, 7-0, in a Northern Athletics Conference matchup in Milwaukee.
The Muskies (7-6 overall, 4-3 NAC) didn't wait long to begin their attack as senior forward Amy Christenson (Dodgeville) scored her eighth goal of the season six minutes into the match. Lakeland would post the only other score of the half with an own goal as the Muskies entered halftime with a 2-0 lead.
It was more of the same in the second as freshman Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan) scored her team-leading 13th goal of the season at the 60th minute. Jacqui Drexler (Appleton) and Jaime Wichman (Franklin) each added a goal and Gina Weiss (Salem) added two more scores to cap off the victory.
The Lakeland offense recorded 30 shot attempts on the afternoon while holding the Inferno to one.
The Muskies return to non-conference action as part of a men's/women's doubleheader Sunday against Finlandia University beginning at noon.
