Senior midfielder
Amy Christenson's goal in the 72nd minute gave the Muskies a bittersweet 2-1 upset win over fifth-place Marian University in Lakeland's final match of the season.

The final win puts the Muskies (10-9, 6-6 Northern Athletics Conference) in a tie for seventh place, one spot short of qualifying for the six-team conference tournament.
"It's disappointing that it's too little, too late," Lakeland head coach David Madsen said, "but it was good for our younger players to see each of the seniors play their butts off in their final game."
Christenson's game-winner came off a through ball from freshman midfielder
Kristi Borts, her second assist of the game. Christenson (Dodgeville) beat the goalkeeper one-on-one to give the Muskies the lead for good.
Freshman forward
Lindsay Rogers (Sheboygan) posted her team-leading 17th goal of the season off a pass from Borts in the 32nd minute to give the Muskies a 1-0 lead.
"We finally played to our potential, and each of the seniors did something special," Madsen said. "[Midfielder] Maggie [Short] did a great job marking last week's conference player of the week. [Defender]
Megan Andrews had a lot of nice challenges in the middle, and [midfielder]
Megan Stock gave our team a lot of energy. It was nice to see [defender]
Jacqui Drexler get out there, too, because she's battled some foot injuries."
