The Lakeland College women's soccer team fell to St. Norbert College 6-1 in a non-conference showdown Thursday afternoon at Lakeland.
The Muskies (2-3) fell behind 2-0 at halftime, and would trail by a score of 3-0 when they finally got on the board. Freshman midfielder Kristi Borts (Greenfield) scored off an assist by fellow freshman midfielder Brittney Smit (St. Cloud) in the 53rd minute.
The Green Knights (3-3-1) would quickly extend their lead back to three as Jenni Jacobsen (Neenah) scored in the 54th minute. The Green Knights would not look back as they tacked on two more goals for the final tally.
The Muskies will be in action again on Saturday in Lake Forest, Ill., where they will play their Northern Athletics Conference opener against Concordia University of Chicago at 3:30 p.m. They will return home on Sept. 23 to face the Ripon College Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m.
