After strong first half, Muskies fall 3-0 to Stars

After going into the half tied at 0-0, the Lakeland women's soccer team surrendered three goals within 15 minutes in the second half on its way to a 3-0 loss at conference foe Dominican University in River Forest, Ill.

"We were beaten on a couple crucial moments there in the second half," Lakeland head coach David Madsen said. "We had a couple of dangerous chances to score in the first half, but we didn't really get a ton of chances overall."

Senior midfielders Maggie Short (Green Bay) and Megan Stock (Libertyville, Ill.) mustered a shot on goal apiece to lead the Muskie offensive attack.

Junior goalkeeper Leslie Oskey (Howards Grove) registered three saves on the defensive end for the Muskies (1-1 NAC, 3-4 overall).

Michelle Reynoso found the back of the net twice in a four-minute span to lead the Stars (5-0, 6-1).

Lakeland returns to action this Tuesday Sept. 23 to host Ripon College. Game time for the non-conference showdown is set for 4:30 p.m.
