Muskies drop road contest at MSOE

The Lakeland College women's soccer team was unable to rebound after falling behind early, dropping a 3-0 decision to MSOE Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference contest in Milwaukee.

Heidi Brehmer scored the first Raider goal in the 11th minute as the Muskies struggled to find their legs.

"We started off slow," Lakeland head coach Dave Madsen said. "After they scored the first goal we started to battle harder for the ball and got into the game, but falling behind early made things hard. We created chances towards end of half, including a shot by Celia that their keeper made a great save on."

MSOE added on a pair of insurance goals in the 61st and 69th minutes for the 3-0 victory.

"We didn't fight as hard as we could have, we should have fought harder than we did," Madsen said. "We were lacking fight when we needed it at the begining of the half."

Lakeland returns to action this weekend in home matches against Alverno on Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon, and a Sunday contest at 11 p.m. against Finlandia
