The Lakeland College women's soccer team struggled coming out of halftime, allowing seven unanswered goals in a 9-2 defeat Wednesday night in a Northern Athletics Conference contest against Marian in Fond du Lac.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, freshman
Celia Klemstein scored the first goal of her college career at 37:21 to put Lakeland (0-6, 0-2) down 2-1 entering halftime.
Marian stormed out of halftime to score the next six goals of the contest before sophomore
Kristina Borts recorded her first goal of the season at 83:23.
The Muskies tallied four shots in each half as they were out-shot 44 to eight by the host Sabres.
Lakeland returns home this weekend with a match up against Concordia Chicago on Saturday, September 19 at noon.
