The Lakeland women's soccer team was denied by a strong Dominican defensive unit Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 Northern Athletics Conference home defeat on the Lakeland College campus.

Kristina Borts (Milwaukee) had the first threat of the game for Lakeland (0-9, 0-4 NAC) in the fifth minute as her shot off of a rebound went high.
Dominican (5-3, 5-0 NAC) scored their first on a header from Adrienne Ryba from a cross from Jenn Russ on the right side in the 21st minute. Kelly Petty scored her first of two goals three minutes after the half on a header off a corner kick from Russ. She scored the third and final goal after a foul deep in the Dominican zone resulted in a Stars' penalty kick.
Lakeland returns to action on Wednesday, September 30 with a non-conference match at Ripon. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
