Hunter wins again but Lakeland falls to Aurora

AURORA, Ill. – Dakota Hunter (Fr.-Waukesha, Wis.) won his second straight match at No. 5 singles to lead the Lakeland College men's tennis team in its 8-1 loss to Aurora (Ill.) University Saturday.

Hunter defeated Patrick MacDonald 6-4, 7-5, improving to 2-0 this season in singles play. He also has had a hand in three wins over the Muskies' last two dual matches.

Other than the team's lone win in singles, Lakeland (0-8 overall, 0-3 NACC) fared better in doubles than singles. Hunter and Jared Nummerdor (Fr.-Waupun, Wis.) played at No. 2 doubles and challenged David Dobrose and Tom Asavarachan before losing 8-5, while ShoSean Fujino (Sr.-Tokyo, Japan) and Dylan Skewis (Jr.-Ishpeming, Mich.) also lost by an 8-5 score to MacDonald and Michael Kitts at No. 3 doubles. Greg Boknevitz (Sr.-St. Francis, Wis.) and Matt Stolz (Jr.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) also were competitive at No. 1 doubles before falling to Jake Lipka and Robert Salerno 8-4.

The Muskies return to the courts again Wednesday when they face Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee at 4 p.m.
