The Lakeland University women's soccer team has the honor of being the lone Muskies team at home on Labor Day weekend and will shoot for its first win of the season Sunday against Rockford (Ill.) University at home at 1 p.m.

The Muskies lost a 7-1 decision to Ripon at home on Thursday in their season opener. The Red Hawks scoring four goals in a span of 4:07 in the second half to blow open a game that was close at halftime. Freshman Brianna Johnson (Green Bay, Wis.) did score the team's first goal of the season, knocking in a corner kick from fellow freshman
Abby Mauer (Waldo, Wis.) in the 76th
minute.

Rockford also opened its season on Thursday and hammered undermanned Iowa Wesleyan 10-0. Lexie Collins and Giovana Ortega both notched hat tricks and Collins added two assists. Rockford scored nine goals in the first half, when it took 21 of its 22 shots before playing possession in the second 45 minutes. Rebecca Krueger, Melissa Macias and Samantha Moreno also all scored single goals for the Regents.
