The Muskies lost a 7-1 decision to Ripon at home on Thursday in their season opener. The Red Hawks scoring four goals in a span of 4:07 in the second half to blow open a game that was close at halftime. Rockford also opened its season on Thursday and hammered undermanned Iowa Wesleyan 10-0. Lexie Collins and Giovana Ortega both notched hat tricks and Collins added two assists. Rockford scored nine goals in the first half, when it took 21 of its 22 shots before playing possession in the second 45 minutes. Rebecca Krueger, Melissa Macias and Samantha Moreno also all scored single goals for the Regents.
