Series history: 36th meeting, Concordia leads 27-6-2
The series between the Muskies and Falcons dates back to 1994, Lakeland's second year of playing women's soccer. Concordia has dominated the series of late, winning 15 straight including a 7-1 victory earlier this year March 28, 2021 down in Mequon during both teams' abbreviated 2020-21 spring season. The closest recent meeting was a 4-1 victory for the Falcons in 2016 in Plymouth when Rachel Hasko scored the lone goal for the Muskies. Lakeland last defeated Concordia 1-0 in the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament semifinals Nov. 2, 2005. Amy Christenson scored the lone goal and Alli Weiss made nine saves as Lakeland continued its march toward the LMC tourney title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Lakeland last time out: Lost to Illinois Tech 7-0 Saturday
The Scarlet Hawks made Senior Day for the Muskies a sour one on the field, scoring three times in the first 7:16 and five times in the first 25 minutes to put Lakeland in a big hole it couldn't dig out of. Seniors Hope Cerney, Skylar Garza, Abby Gastrau, Tracey Sery and Erin Tomlinson all were recognized at halftime of the match, but the Muskies were in retreat much of the day and were outshot 27-1, with Anna Goller attempting Lakeland's one shot. Tomlinson made 12 saves in goal.

Concordia last time out: Won at Lake Forest (Ill.) 1-0 yesterday
Selena Esten scored the lone goal of the match late in the first half and the Falcons were victorious in the non-conference match on the road. Esten scored with 7:59 left in the first half and Concordia held on the rest of the way even as the Foresters made a charge in the second half following CUW controlling the first 45 minutes. The Falcons won their third straight match and posted their 11th shutout of the season with Kaeley Sterkel making seven saves.

Concordia enters the final day of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular season in a three-way tie with Dominican and MSOE for the top spot in the conference at 11-1. All three teams have a win over the other, meaning a three-way tie will go deep down the list of conference tiebreakers to decide the top seed in the NACC Tournament.

Stalwarts: Lakeland is playing its season finale tonight, and it has been another season with the team plagued by a number of injuries. Just five players have appeared in all 16 games entering tonight-Hope Cerney, Abby Gastrau, Riley Jahnke, Abby Runkel and Faith Turley. Of them, two have started all 16 matches-Cerney and Jahnke, and Jahnke now has a string of 24 straight starts since joining the team in 2020-21.
