Mobley to lead Lakeland women’s soccer team for 2021 season

Rick Mobley will serve as interim head coach for the Lakeland University women's soccer team this fall, Athletics Director April Arvan recently announced.

Mobley also will continue as head coach of the Lakeland men's soccer team in the fall. Lakeland men's soccer graduate assistant Kyle Quintell will also join Mobley in helping with the women's soccer team this year.

Graduate assistant coaches Harlie Valentine and Megan Vasseur and assistant coach Liesa Blattner all will also return with the women's soccer program this year. Valentine and Vasseur are both in their second year with the program and Blattner will aid the team for the third straight year.

"I look forward to working with the women's soccer program this fall," said Mobley. "They have a reputation of being a hard-working team and I'm excited to be a part of it. We have an excellent staff of assistant coaches that played a key role in me accepting this position on an interim basis."

Mobley has led the Lakeland men's soccer team over his first three years, including a 2-3-1 mark overall and in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in the spring in a season abbreviated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He has nearly 200 victories in 22 years as a collegiate head men's soccer coach.
