Series history: 17th meeting, Benedictine leads 14-2
The series between the Muskies and Eagles started with both being part of the inaugural year of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in 2006. Lakeland won two of the first three meetings but since then Benedictine has won 12 straight, including a 3-1 win last year at Taylor Field where Kailyn Knudson, Olivia McPherson and Victoria Alvarado scored for the Eagles and Hanna Brouch tallied for the Muskies. Lakeland's last win in the series was a 5-0 triumph Oct. 25, 2008, as Lindsay Rogers scored twice and Amy Christenson, Brittney Smit and Megan Andrews all added single goals

Lakeland last time out: Lost at MSOE 6-0 Wednesday
The Muskies had a long night in Milwaukee against the unbeaten Raiders. MSOE scored three goals in the first 18 minutes on the way to a 3-0 halftime lead, and then scored 21 seconds into the second half on the way to three more over the final 45 minutes. MSOE spent most of the match on offense and finished with a 47-0 advantage in shots. Faith Turley made 14 saves in goal for the Muskies, who lost their third straight in NACC play and were shut out for the second straight game, having also fallen 4-0 at Concordia Chicago last Saturday. The loss to CUC came in an entirely different manner, after Lakeland outshot the Cougars 19-12, including six attempts by Alondra Reyes, and three more each by Chloe Bartlett, Hanna Brouch and Marlen Reyes, but couldn't break through.

Benedictine last time out: Lost at Dominican 2-0 Wednesday
The Eagles also lost in conference play Wednesday night, dropping a match on the road against the defending NACC regular season champions. The Stars scored both of their goals just over four minutes apart in the second half, tallying in the 58th and 62nd minutes. Benedictine put five shots in goal in the match but was outshot 25-12 for the game, including Dominican posting an 11-5 edge in shots on goal. Katherine Prochnow made nine saves in net for the Eagles.

Benedictine is 1-5-1 overall on the season but defeated defending NACC tourney champion Concordia Wisconsin for its lone win and also has one-goal losses to St. Norbert and Webster (Mo.) and a tie with Monmouth (Ill.). The Eagles are led by twin sisters Kiara and Olivia McPherson, who are also twin fall sport athletes, both also competing on the Benedictine women's volleyball team. Last Saturday for instance, the two competed in a volleyball match against Lake Forest (Ill.) at noon, then were back on campus to take on St. Norbert for a soccer match at 5 p.m.
