The Lakeland University baseball team received high grades for academics for the 2023-24 school year when it recently received the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award highlights teams coaches by ABCA members that posted a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year. Teams from every level of college and high school baseball were honored with the award, with more than 470 collegiate programs and nearly 350 high school programs receiving the honor.

The award is the latest academic honor for the 2024 Muskies baseball team. Earlier last week, sixteen members of the baseball team received the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete Award for maintaining a 3.25 GPA or higher through the year.
