Series history: 5th meeting, Augustana leads 4-0
Lakeland is looking for its first win over Augustana in a series that dates back to the Muskies' first year playing the sport in 1993. The teams are also meeting for the second straight season, after the Vikings claimed a narrow 1-0 win Sept. 10, 2023 in Rock Island, Ill. Ximena Osorio-Rodriguez scored the match's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 56th minute. The teams also met in a home-and-home series in 2004 and 2005, including Augie posting a 5-0 win in the last matchup at Lakeland Sept. 10, 2005. The teams first met on Halloween night in 1993, with the Vikings also picking up a 4-0 victory that wrapped up the Muskies' first season.

Lakeland last time out: Lost at Beloit 4-0 Wednesday
The Muskies had frustrating afternoon on the road in their first game in eight days, falling to the Buccaneers in a non-conference game. Lakeland was called for a red card less than four minutes into the game and played the remaining 86:13 one player down. Beloit scored an early goal in the sixth minute, but the Muskies valiantly held the hosts from any further scores until the second half, when the Bucs scored three goals in a stretch of four minutes. Ingrid Steinbock made 11 saves in goal, including snuffing out a penalty kick in the second half.

Augustana last time out: Won at Coe (Iowa) 2-1 Wednesday
The Vikings remained undefeated in three games this season, edging the winless Kohawks on the road in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Samira Khobdeh scored the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute of a game that was largely even with both teams finishing with seven shot attempts. Liesl Whitener also finished with a goal and an assist for Augustana, which improved to 2-0-1 and also has a win over Lakeland's NACC rival Concordia Chicago by a 4-0 score plus a 1-1 tie against Illinois College.

The Vikings are a member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin and finished 10-5-4 overall last year and 3-2-3 in conference. Augustana comes from Rock Island, Ill., and the Quad Cities area, and is the NCAA Division III version of the Augustana Vikings. Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D., also is known as the Vikings (and features blue and gold as its main colors) but competes at the NCAA Division II level.
