Series history: 81st meeting, Lakeland leads 45-35
The Muskies and Warriors resume a series that dates back to 1983 and one that has belonged to Wisconsin Lutheran of late. WLC has won 12 straight over Lakeland, including the teams' regular season meeting by an 84-50 score on Dec. 6, 2025. The Muskies' last win in the series spoiled the Warriors' first-ever game as a nationally ranked squad, as Lakeland won 58-49 at home Jan. 30, 2018.
The teams have met five times prior in the NACC Tournament, all at WLC, with the Warriors owning a 4-1 record in those games. Their last meeting was a close one, though, with Wisconsin Lutheran pulling out a 52-51 win in the quarterfinals in 2022, while the Muskies' lone win in the NACC tourney over Lutheran was a 58-47 victory in the 2010 semifinals on the way to winning the title and earning a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Lakeland last time out: Defeated Concordia Chicago 69-58 Saturday
The Muskies extended their season with a win in their regular season finale, defeating the Cougars to edge past CUC for the final spot in the NACC Tournament. Seniors
Amari Banks,
A.T. Bartlett,
Alexis Johnson and
Lauryn Johnson were honored before the game on Senior Day, and all four scored in double figures including
Lauryn Johnson with a team-high 13 and Banks posting career highs of 11 points and six rebounds in her first collegiate start. Lakeland led almost the entire way and pulled away late after the Cougars had come back from 12 points down to tie in the third quarter. The win allowed the Muskies to tie Concordia Chicago for eighth in the final NACC standings, and with the teams splitting to regular season meetings the tiebreaker went down to a formula measuring teams' wins and losses, and Lakeland came out on top in the tiebreaker to qualify for the NACC tourney for the fifth time in six years.
Lakeland is the No. 8 seed in the conference tourney for the second straight year and the third time in five years. The last two times the Muskies have faced the NACC's top seed they have put a scare into the higher-seeded team. In addition to just missing against WLC back in 2022, Lakeland also led St. Norbert in the game's latter stages before falling to the Green Knights 58-52 last year.
Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Defeated Benedictine 66-42 Saturday
The Warriors pulled away over the final three quarters in defeating the Eagles to wrap up the NACC regular season crown. WLC led just 17-15 after one quarter but outscored Benedictine 49-27 the rest of the way in winning its 10th straight game. Abby Cole scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Kenly Frey added 14 points and Jayden Hill pulled down 13 rebounds and added four steals as Lutheran forced 23 Benedictine turnovers and turned them into a huge 28-5 advantage in points off turnovers. Wisconsin Lutheran clinched its 11th regular season title since the NACC's first season in 2006-07, and now the Warriors try for their 14th NACC Tournament title, including their third straight and fifth in the last six years.
