WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Lakeland University men's and women's track & field teams closed their seasons with a handful of top-10 finishes competing at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships, which wrapped up Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College's Raabe Stadium.
Emily Guy (
Jr.-Glendale Heights, Ill.),
Jiaryatou Cisse (
Jr.-Harrison, Mich.),
Morgan Caho (
So.-Canton, Ill.) and
Jake Lemke (
Sr.-West Bend, Wis.) all posted individual top-10 showings and the Lakeland men's team also added a pair of relay finishes inside the top 10. Both Muskies teams finished with three points total in the team standings at the conclusion of two days of competition.
Guy scored two points for the Lakeland women's squad by coming in eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.47 seconds. She also placed eighth in the 400 hurdles finals with a finish of 1:17.68, coming after she posted a season best of 1:15.99 in the preliminaries on Friday to qualify into Saturday's finals.
Cisse placed ninth in the women's 200 meters with a time of 27.51. She also finished just outside the top 10 in the 100, placing 11th in 13.57.
Caho placed eighth in the men's high jump with an outdoor career best mark of 5 feet, 9 1/4 inches (1.75 meters). He also was eighth in the javelin with a best of 134-3 (40.92m), just ahead of teammate Lemke who was ninth with a throw of 132-1 (40.25m).
The men's 4 x 400 relay of Caho,
Konnor Korb (So.-Sheboygan, Wis.),
Cody Vojta (
Fr.-Saint Germain, Wis.) and
Patrick Reilly (
Fr.-Brookfield, Wis.).finished eighth with a time of 3:40.88. Caho, Korb, Reilly and
Preston Dos Santos (
So.-Random Lake, Wis.) also placed ninth in the 4 x 100, finishing in 46.28.
Elise (Brill) Torrenga (
Fr.-Cedar Grove, Wis.) also was 14th in the women's 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:34.86. Caho also was 13th in the men's 200, finishing in 23.26.
