Trip to Madison to face Badgers highlights 2026 Lakeland men’s soccer schedule

The Lakeland University men's soccer team will face the University of Wisconsin as part of a challenging schedule for the upcoming fall of 2026 season.

The Muskies will take on the Badgers on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Dan McClimon Memorial Soccer Complex in Madison in the first-ever meeting between the teams. The match will officially be an exhibition for Lakeland while counting as a regular season game for Wisconsin, which finished 8-8 overall last year including a 4-6 record in the Big Ten Conference.

The Muskies also will play a full 20-game regular season schedule that includes nine games at home. Lakeland opens its season with a sprint through seven matches in 13 days, starting with the opener at Lawrence University Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in Appleton. The Muskies will play every other day over that 13-day stretch and open the home portion of the schedule on Labor Day weekend against Cornell (Iowa) College at John Taylor Memorial Field on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2 p.m.

Lakeland begins its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference slate against defending regular season champion Edgewood University on Sept. 16 in Madison. The Muskies play Benedictine University later that week on Sept. 19 in their NACC home opener, and Lakeland doesn't play three straight matches at home until mid-October when it takes on Milwaukee School of Engineering, Dominican University and St. Norbert College in succession between Oct. 14-21.

The Muskies posted a 7-10-2 overall record and finished 2-8-2 in the NACC last year in head coach Kyle Quintell's second year leading the program. The seven wins were the program's most since 2013, and Lakeland's five home wins last year with its most in a season since 2004.
