The Lakeland College women's basketball team faces a tall task in its quest to get its first win of the season Wednesday night, as the Muskies host four-time defending Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference champion Wisconsin Lutheran College at 7 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies come in with a 0-3 record after falling to Concordia Chicago 85-66 on Saturday in their NACC season opener. Lakeland had a cold shooting day, hitting just 31.3% from the field, and also committed 28 turnovers. Trista Barron (Jr.-Escanaba, Mich.) scored 12 points off the bench to pace the Muskies, while C.J. Usadel (Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) and Kayla Clark (So.-West Bend, Wis.) added 11 points each.

Wisconsin Lutheran enters at 1-2 this year after getting its first win of the season on Saturday in their NACC opener with an 85-36 rout of Alverno. Six-foot-3 post player Kristen Schulz totaled 21 points and 12 rebounds and four players scored in double figures. WLC also got 31 points from its bench and held the visitors to 24.5% shooting while also forcing 25 turnovers.

Lakeland holds a 41-19 lead in the all-time series with Wisconsin Lutheran, a series that dates back to 1983. WLC has been in command of
the series of late, though, winning seven of the last eight meetings, including two wins last year.

The game has been designated a 'Red Out' game, so fans attending are encouraged to wear red to promote heart health awareness.
