KOHLER – A strong Cornell (Iowa) College team swept all nine matches of a dual meet with the Lakeland University women's tennis team Sunday afternoon at Sports Core.

The Rams of the Midwest Conference won comfortable in all flights of the non-conference match. Cornell is one of the favorites in the MWC and improved to 5-1 overall this year, while the Muskies are now 1-4.

The top performance for Lakeland in singles came from Carly Brault (Jr.-Brillion, Wis.), who was defeated by Raquel Ruiz 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Tyner Strawn (So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) and Mikayla Hilton (Sr.-Port Washington, Wis.) also were defeated by identical 6-0, 6-2 scores, with Strawn playing at No. 3 singles against Abbey Nelson and Hilton at No. 5 versus Anne Seng.

The Muskies won their only two games in doubles at No. 2, where Strawn and Ann Schroeder (So.-Lake Mills, Wis.) were defeated by Nelson and Janice Elkerton.

Lakeland will be at home again for its next matches Saturday when it hosts Marian University at 10 a.m. and Edgewood College at 2 p.m., with both duals at Sports Core.
