The Lakeland University women's basketball team (2-6 overall, 2-2 NACC) is home for the first time in three weeks and the only time in the month of December when it hosts Illinois Institute of Technology (0-6 overall, 0-4 NACC) Saturday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.

Broadcast Information: Live audio/video/statistics are all available to follow along with at http://www.lakelandmuskies.com/muskieslive. Andy Damp is again calling the playby-play for all home basketball games this year.

Series history: 5th meeting, Lakeland leads 4-0
Lakeland and Illinois Institute of Technology had met just one time before playing three times over the last two seasons. Last year was Illinois Tech's first year in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, and the Muskies defeated the Scarlet Hawks by almost identical scores last season, first by a 68-29 count in Chicago Dec. 15, 2018 before winning a 69-26 decision at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium earlier this year on Feb. 13. Lakeland also topped IIT 77-44 at home Nov. 18, 2017, and the schools first squared off Jan. 5, 1994 as the Muskies routed the Scarlet Hawks 78-34 at home in the Wehr Center Fieldhouse.

Lakeland last time out: Won at Marian 56-53 last Saturday
The Muskies won their second straight conference game in a competitive contest down to the wire in Fond du Lac. The Muskies led most of the way, taking the lead early in the second quarter and never trailing again, but only led by five going into the final frame. A Marian layup with 13 seconds left brought the Sabres within two points at 55-53, but after Amanda Majewski split a pair of free throws with nine seconds left, a game-tying three-pointer from Marian's Claire Levendoski missed the mark. Majewski scored a career-high 19 points and hit three three-pointers, while Megan Will recorded a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.

Illinois Tech last time out: Lost to MSOE 77-39 last Saturday The Scarlet Hawks have been idle for the last week since hosting MSOE last Saturday. The Raiders built a huge lead by halftime, holding Illinois Tech to just 11 points in the first half in leading 44-11 at the break. The Scarlet Hawks were much more competive in the second half, outscored just 33-28 after halftime. Shannon O'Donnell led the Scarlet Hawks with 11 points and added five rebounds and three steals. Erin Efimoff also grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

About Illinois Tech: The Scarlet Hawks are still in search of their first win, losing the first six games of the 2019-20 campaign. Illinois Tech's closest loss came in its opener, a 71-56 defeat by Mount Mary, while its best performance in conference was a 66-46 loss at Alverno last month. IIT finished 1-23 a year ago in its first go-round in the NACC, picking up its first conference win in its season finale against Rockford.

Light stretch of games: Lakeland is playing at home for the first time in three weeks, and its a particularly thin time of season for home games as this is the Muskies' only appearance at home between Nov. 24 and Jan. 10, a stretch of 48 days. It has been and will continue to be a light schedule in general for the Fish, who after this game will play just once in the next 20 days and are in a stretch of just three games in 30 days.
