Series history: 22nd meeting, St. Norbert leads 21-0
Lakeland and St. Norbert are meeting in Plymouth for the first time in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. The Green Knights have dominated the all-time series, though all but four of the previous games took place between 1976 and 1985. The Green Knights won the last meeting exactly one year ago, taking a 63-43 win in De Pere. The Muskies last hosted SNC Nov. 8, 2019, falling 59-50 in both teams' season opener. The Muskies and Green Knights are one-time conference mates in women's sports as part of the Wisconsin Independent Colleges-Women's Athletic Conference (WIC-WAC).

Lakeland last time out: Won at Lawrence 60-49 Saturday
The Muskies snapped an early-season losing skid, breaking through struggles to defeat the Vikings in Appleton. Lakeland took the lead less than four minutes into the game and never trailed again, leading by as many as 16 points in the second half. Lawrence rallied on several occasions, first getting within four late in the second quarter before the Muskies closed the half scoring the final eight points. The Vikings also drew back within eight in the fourth quarter but got no closer down the stretch.

Freshman Mackenzie Miller scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double, Kacey Gardner scored 14 points and added seven assists and seven steals and Brianna Jones also added a season-high 14 points plus seven boards. The Muskies ended a string of four straight road games and snapped a five-game losing streak against a difficult schedule with the first five opponents posting a collective 86-45 record last year, including two who advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament and a third that won its conference regular season crown.

St. Norbert last time out: Lost at No. 13 UW-Eau Claire 78-56 Nov. 22
The Green Knights have been idle for over a week since falling on the road to the Bluegolds last Tuesday. St. Norbert was close for a half, with UWEC holding a 39-33 halftime lead, but Eau Claire shot 51.4% in the second half and pulled away in the fourth quarter, finishing the game on a 14-4 run over the last 6:15. Kaycee Gierczak and Chloe Gruszynski scored 12 points each and combined for 17 rebounds to lead SNC, which shot 28.0% for the game and lost for the first time in four contests.

About the Green Knights: St. Norbert had won its previous three games this season, defeating Lawrence and Carthage to win its season-opening tip-off tourney and then claiming a 55-50 win at UW-Stevens Point Nov. 16 in which the Green Knights trailed by three with just over a minute left but Olivia DeCleene scored the winning layup with nine seconds left and SNC scored the game's final eight points. St. Norbert is in its second year in the NACC and finished 19-8 overall and 14-3 to place second in the conference last year.
