Savannah Szalanski (
So.-Watertown, Wis.) again posted the lowest scores for the Lakeland University women's golf team as it competed in the first two rounds of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships, hosted at Aldeen Golf Course Saturday and Sunday.
Szalanski shot rounds of 100 and 102, putting her 41st individually of 56 golfers after the first two of four rounds of the conference championship.
The sophomore made three pars in her first round on Friday at the par-72, 5,643-yard course. She added three more pars on Sunday as well as her best nine-hole stretch of the weekend, shooting a 47 on the front nine Sunday.
Skylar Hall (
Sr.-Negaunee, Mich.) also finished with rounds of 153 and 144, cutting nine shots off her first round score with her play Sunday.
Emily Watanabe Graf also finished with rounds of 246 and 193, struggling on the front nine holes Saturday but improving Sunday and posting a 4 on the par-3 eighth hole.
Aurora University holds a commanding lead in the team standings after posting a two-day score of 648, a full 46 strokes ahead of second-place Marian University. Yinan Lu of Marian holds the individual lead with a score of 153 after two rounds that included rounds of 75 and 78.
The NACC Championships concludes with the final two rounds this coming weekend, Oct. 7-8. Play will move to Washington County Golf Course in Hartford, Wis.
