Series history: 32nd meeting, Benedictine leads 17-14
The Muskies and Eagles meet for the second time this season and the second time in less than a month. Benedictine won the first matchup 66-53 at home in Lisle, Ill., on Jan. 27, hitting 11 three-pointers, including 10 through the first three quarters. Lakeland's last win in the series came just over a year ago at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium, with a wire-to-wire 69-49 victory that included Kerstin Sauerbrei hitting four three-pointers on the way to 14 points. The series dates back to Jan. 9, 1988, when the Eagles posted a 67-57 win at Lakeland. Benedictine won the first six meetings before the Muskies' first victory, a 55-42 win at home Jan. 26, 2008.

Lakeland last time out: Lost at Aurora 83-75 Wednesday
The Muskies rode a roller coaster but made plenty of noise before ultimately falling to the Spartans on the road in Illinois. Lakeland trailed by just two at halftime before Aurora went on a 24-5 run to take a 21-point lead late in the third quarter. Back the Muskies came, scoring the final 11 points of the third quarter to get within 10 and then drawing as close as four points late before the Spartans closed the game out at the free throw line. A.T. Bartlett and Alexis Johnson both reset their career scoring highs with 22 points each, and Johnson and Caris Jaeger also both set career bests with nine rebounds each. A sign of Lakeland's improvement as the season has gone on, Aurora won the second meeting on its homecourt by just eight points after the Muskies fell to the Spartans by 26 points in their first meeting back in December.

Benedictine last time out: Lost to St. Norbert 57-47 Wednesday
The Eagles played also played one of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's best teams tough on Wednesday before falling to the Green Knights at home. Benedictine trailed by single digits most of the game but made a brief surge to the lead early in the third quarter, before SNC resasserted control. The Eagles were held to 27.5% shooting, including 6 of 26 from three-point range. Madelyn Koehler led  Benedictine with 11 points. The Eagles lost for the fourth time in five games, as the toughest part of their NACC schedule was loaded at the end after a 7-3 start in conference.

Recapping the first meeting: The Eagles led for all but two minutes in the teams' first game and won the game with three-point shooting, hitting 11 of 34 from long range. Benedictine was 10-for-24 from three over the first three quarters, never letting the Muskies get close as they shot 36.4% and hit just 4 of 14 from long range and 9 of 18 from the free throw line. Sierra Skack led the Eagles with 12 points and Makenzie Carroll added four points and 12 rebounds, while Meghan MacPhee scored nine points off the bench for Lakeland.

What's on the line today: The Eagles have already qualified for the NACC Tournament, while the Muskies' path to the tourney is simple: win and Lakeland is in. The Muskies enter the final day of regular season play one game ahead of Rockford, but should Lakeland lose it will need help and will be hoping Dominican can defeat Rockford on Saturday. The Muskies' game against Benedictine also carries significance for both teams, though, because with a win Lakeland will tie the Eagles in the final standings and jump over them in the tourney seedings based on NACC tiebreakers. The Muskies with a win will be no worse than the No. 7 seed in the tourney and could even be the sixth seed if Concordia Wisconsin were to lose at Concordia Chicago Saturday.

Senior Day: Today is Senior Day for the Lakeland women's basketball team, and three seniors will be honored before the game. Bree Arsenault, Sadie Conway and Kerstein Sauerbrei are the lone seniors on this year's team, with Conway and Sauerbrei both four-year members of the team and Arsenault in her second year after transferring from junior college. All have been key players on this year's team, and Arsenault and Conway both have had their best seasons as seniors playing primarily off the bench. Sauerbrei is a three-year starter who against Dominican Feb. 7 broke the school record for career three-pointers made, and she holds the record with 159 career 3s as well as more than 600 points scored in her career.
