Bartlett receives second-team all-NACC women’s basketball recognition

Lakeland University's A.T. Bartlett (So.-Farmington Hills, Mich.) was named a second team all-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference selection when the league released its women's basketball postseason awards today.

Bartlett received NACC honors for the first time, and is the lone Muskie to receive honors on this year's team. The award comes after Lakeland finished 9-16 overall and tied for eighth in the conference with a 7-9 record.

Bartlett finished the season averaging 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game. The sophomore led the team in scoring, assists and free throw percentage (71.1%) and ranked second in steals and fifth in rebounding while also hitting 27 three-pointers, third-best on the team.

Bartlett showed outstanding improvement as a sophomore, increasing averages significantly from 1.9 points and 1.5 rebounds per game as a freshman to becoming one of the team's key performers as a sophomore. That included setting a career high with 22 points against Aurora late in the season, tied with teammate Alexis Johnson (So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) for most by a Muskie in a game this season.

Wisconsin Lutheran College senior Sam Leisemann was named NACC Player of the Year, while Edgewood College took the top defensive player and top freshman awards with Vivian Guerrero named Defensive Player of the Year and Jayden Nortier voted Freshman of the Year.
