STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Lakeland University women's wrestling team placed three wrestlers in the top six in their classes in opening its season at the Pointer Women's Open hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Saturday.

Niyasia McCampbell (Sr.-Amarillo, Texas) came in fifth in the Gold 207-pound class, while freshmen Jalah Wilson (Phoenix, Ill.) and Aubrey Miller-Ramirez (Griffith, Ind.) finished sixth in their respective classes, Wilson in the Purple 160-lb. division and Miller-Ramirez in the Purple 207-lb. class.

McCampbell finished 3-2 in her class, including a pair of technical fall wins in the consolation bracket. She finished up with a victory by injury default in 2 minutes, 9 seconds over Angie Guy of Augustana (Ill.) College.

Wilson posted a 3-3 record in her class that included a trio of pins, all three coming in less than two minutes. She eventually dropped the fifth-place match to Kylie Miller of Luther (Iowa) College.

Miller-Ramirez finished with a 2-3 record on the day that included two consolation round pins, the second in just 23 seconds over Aislan Leetch of Augustana. She was defeated by Mackenzie Conklin of North Central (Ill.) College in the fifth-place match by fall.

Raynisha Sims (Fr.-Chicago, Ill.) also was consolation champion in the Purple 131 class, posting a 3-1 record. She ran through the consolation bracket with three straight wins by fall, the last over Kaydn Meyer of Wartburg (Iowa) College in 1:03.

Lakeland next will host its home quadrangular event on Sunday, Nov. 9 with matches beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
