Series history: 80th meeting, Lakeland leads 45-34
The Muskies and Warriors resume a series that dates back to 1983 and one that has belonged to Wisconsin Lutheran of late. WLC has won 11 straight over Lakeland, including the only meeting between the teams last season, a 76-49 victory earlier this calendar year in Milwaukee on Jan. 29. The Warriors also won the last time the teams met at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium, with a 86-37 victory Jan. 10, 2024. Wisconsin Lutheran enters this game nationally ranked at No. 22 in the NCAA Division III D3hoops.com Top 25 Coaches Poll, and the Muskies' last win in the series came against a ranked Lutheran team and spoiled the Warriors' first game as a nationally ranked squad, as Lakeland won 58-49 at home Jan. 30, 2018.

Lakeland last time out: Won at Illinois Tech 68-39 Wednesday
The Muskies dominated on both ends of the court and earned their first win of the season and in their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opener in Chicago. Lakeland shot a season-best 45% while also holding IIT to 25% shooting for the game. The Muskies took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Scarlet Hawks 18-6 to take a 35-19 halftime lead, and never led by less than 16 points in the second half. Alexis Johnson scored 18 points, making 7 of 11 shots including both of her three-point attempts. She was followed by balanced scoring with Sydney Nimsakont scoring nine points, Sadie Grabow, Lauryn Johnson and Jenna Shea all scoring eight points and Amari Banks adding seven points off the bench. Jiaryatou Cisse also led the team with eight rebounds.

Alexis Johnson enters today's game averaging 15.0 points per game through six games, a number that ranks third-best in the NACC early this season. The Muskies have not had a player average that many points per game since Bailey Grayvold averaged 16.0 ppg in 2016-17, the last time Lakeland qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Wisconsin Lutheran last time out: Defeated Aurora 62-46 Wednesday
The Warriors were in charge against what is expected to be one of the NACC's top contenders, dominating the first half in taking down the Spartans. WLC led 18-7 after one quarter and 37-15 at halftime, and Aurora scored nearly half of its points (20) in the final quarter to make the final score more respectable. Margie Stevens scored 18 points, Madeline Leffel scored 12 and Lutheran held the Spartans to 24.2% shooting for the game, including just 3 of 25 from three-point range. WLC improved to 5-1 overall, with its lone loss coming to a Loras team that also defeated Lakeland last month. Lutheran finished second in the NACC last season and won the NACC Tournament to make their 13th trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
