RIPON, Wis. –
Morgan Caho (
Fr.-Canton, Ill.) set a new Lakeland University men's indoor track & field record in the high jump as the Muskies track teams opened their season at the Red Hawk Invite hosted by Ripon College Saturday.
Caho cleared 1.75 meters (5 feet, 8 3/4 inches) to finish sixth in the men's high jump in his first meet for Lakeland. He broke the previous Muskies indoor record of 1.71m (5-7 1/4) set by Dakota Aschenbach in 2023 and tied by
Marlon Stewart last year.
Caho had the top individual finish for Lakeland and one of three top-10 individual finishes on the day for the men's and women's teams. He was joined on the men's side by
Kolby Cohen (
Sr.-Missouri City, Texas), who placed ninth in the triple jump with a best of 12.68m (41-7 1/4).
Preston Dos Santos (
Fr.-Random Lake, Wis.) also came in 12th in the long jump with a top mark of 5.99m (19-8), while Cohen was not far behind in 16th with a mark of 5.86m (19-2 3/4). Caho, Dos Santos,
Jake Lemke (
Jr.-West Bend, Wis.) and
Dylan Rouse (
Jr.-Kieler, Wis.) also posted a time of 1:41.51 running the 4 x 200 relay.
Emily Guy (
So.-Glendale Heights, Ill.) had the best finish of the two members competing for the Lakeland women's team, coming in 10th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 11.06 seconds.
Emma Ziepke (
Jr.-Manawa, Wis.) also finished the mile in 6:28.13.
