Series history: 34th meeting, Lakeland leads 17-16
The Muskies and Spartans play for the first and only time this season, with the teams only slated to play once in the unbalanced Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule. Lakeland is looking for its first win in the series in a while, as Aurora has won five straight, including both meetings last season. The Spartans topped the Muskies 86-60 at the Woltzen Gymnasium Dec. 2, 2023, and then completed the sweep with a hard-earned 83-75 win over Lakeland just over a year ago on Feb. 14, 2024. Aurora also swept two games from the Muskies in the 2022-23 season, while Lakeland's last win was a 60-57 victory at home Dec. 11, 2021. The series between the schools dates back to Dec. 3, 1982, when the Spartans won the first matchup 64-62 at the Muskies' Wehr Center Fieldhouse.

Lakeland last time out: Won at Illinois Tech 73-61 Saturday
The Muskies answered an IIT comeback in the second half with a strong fourth quarter to clinch the final available berth in the NACC Tournament, putting Lakeland back in the conference tourney after a one-year absence. Halle Boldt scored 20 points and the Muskies led for more than 35 minutes of the game, but saw the Scarlet Hawks come back from a 12-point deficit in the second quarter to take the lead on two occasions in the third. Alexis Johnson added 13 points off the bench and Ariana Vaitkeviciute scored all six of her points at the start of the fourth quarter, and as a team Lakeland posted a 56-43 rebounding advantage in winning on the road for just the second time this season.

Aurora last time out: Lost to Concordia Wisconsin 64-62 Saturday
The Spartans are coming in off a loss, having fallen to Concordia at home on Senior Day in a back-and-forth game. Aurora led 62-61 with 1:16 left after Selena Vargas made one of two free throws, but CUW took the lead with a minute left and the Spartans turned the ball over twice in the final minute. Krystyna Manzanarez scored 21 points to lead Auora and Eliot Dojutrek added 12. The Spartans shot 47.9% (23 of 48) including 8 of 18 from three-point range but just 8 of 15 from the free throw line.

Lakeland and Aurora could potentially be playing for seeding in the NACC Tournament. The Muskies enter the night one game behind the Spartans, Benedictine, Edgewood and MSOE all tied in the standings in fourth place at 9-5 in conference.
