WAUWATOSA, Wis. –
Lydia Levra (
Fr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) finished third in the women's 400-meter dash, highlighting the Lakeland University outdoor track & field teams' day at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Green & White Invitational Thursday.
On a cold, blustery afternoon, Levra ran a 1:01 flat 400, trailing only two University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee NCAA Division I runners. Levra also finished 8th out of 46 in the 200 with a time of 26.89 and came in 18th in the 100 (13.5).
Jake Lemke (
Jr.-West Bend, Wis.) battled swirling winds to finish fourth out of 28 competitors in the javelin with a best throw of 143 feet, 9 inches (43.83 meters).
Lakeland personal bests were recorded by freshman
Preston Dos Santos (
Random Lake, Wis.) in the 200 (24.4),
Konnor Korb (
Fr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) in both the 200 (25.16) and 100 (12.09) and
Dominick Enriquez (
Fr.-El Paso, Texas) in the shot put (23-5 ¼, 7.14m). Dos Santos also finished 6th in the long jump with a best jump of 20-1 3/4 (6.14m).
Eduardo Campuzano (
Jr.-Hinckley, Ill.) had a busy day, competing in the 200, 400 and 800. His 400 time of 55.4 was a huge PR in an event he rarely competes in.
Emily Guy (
So.-Glendale Heights, Ill.) ran a strong season best (1:13.2) in the grueling, windy 400-meter hurdles event.
"We're just waiting for a warm, wind-free day," said Lakeland head coach
Pete Barth. "Tough conditions, but our athletes fought hard and competed."
Lakeland has two more meets this season, at St. Norbert on April 26 and back at St. Norbert on May 2-3 for the NACC Outdoor Championships.
