Muskies women’s basketball experienced Argentina on international trip

The Lakeland University women's basketball team took part in an international tour in May, traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina for competition as well as experiencing the culture of the South American country.

The Muskies were in Argentina from May 13-19 and played three games against international competition, taking on professional clubs from the Women's Basketball League Americas and posting a 1-2 record, including a victory over El Talar of Buenos Aires. The team also took part in sight-seeing, walking tours, dining and interactive experiences including receiving an Argentine tango dancing lesson.

"In May, our program had the once in a lifetime opportunity to embark on a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina," said Head Coach Ashley Lona. "Every four years we plan these foreign tours for our student-athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters! These trips allow our team a chance to bond, gain valuable playing experience against foreign competition, and be immersed in an entirely new culture-this was the first time a lot of our student-athletes had been out of the country! We look forward to creating more memories on future trips! Some exciting things in store for Lakeland Women's Basketball!"
