LAKE GENEVA, Wis. –
Roger Sauvage (
Sr.-Seattle, Wash.) made a move on the second day and posted the top individual finish for the Lakeland University men's golf team at the Grand Intercollegiate event at Grand Geneva Resort, which concluded play Monday.
Sauvage shot a two-day score of 154 that included a second round of two-over par 73. He finished tied for 62nd individually and paced the Muskies as they finished 20th in the team standings with a two-day total of 638.
Sauvage's tourney included a strong finish to his final round with three birdies in his final five holes. Starting his day at hole No. 16, Sauvage was at five-over on the day without a birdie until scoring a four on the par-11, 594-yard 11th hole. He then birdied the par-4 13th hole and finished with another birdie on the par-4, 350-yard 15th hole.
Brandon Bloechel (
Jr.-Sheboygan, Wis.) finished not far behind Sauvage in a tie for 68th with a total of 156. He posted a 79 in the first round that included a 34 on the back nine holes with three birdies, all on par-4 holes, first on the 15th and 18th after starting on hole No. 13, and then another on the 318-yard 10th hole.
Kaiden Dopp (
Jr.-Wild Rose, Wis.) came in 96th individually with rounds of 79 and 84 for a total of 163. He tied Bloechel for the team's best round on Saturday, including three birdies, and shot 42 on the first and second nine holes in his final round on Sunday.
Ayden Long (
So.-Oostburg, Wis.) shot consistent matching rounds of 85 on both days, including 43 on the first nine holes and 42 on the second nine both days. He posted six pars in his round on Saturday and eight pars on Sunday, including par on his final three holes.
Parker Braun (
Jr.-Brillion, Wis.) posted a 93 in his first round before finishing with a much better 80 for a final total of 173. He notched three birdies on Sunday, one each on par-3 (17th hole), par-4 (14th) and par-5 (2nd) holes.
