The Lakeland College women's basketball team is happy to return to the comforts of home when it hosts Rockford tonight at 7 p.m. in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
The Muskies (2-10 overall, 2-6 NACC) will be playing at home for the first time in 19 days. In the time since, Lakeland has played four games on the road, a stretch that has contributed heavily to the team's current seven-game losing streak.
In it's last game on Saturday, the Muskies fell to Aurora 69-62. Lakeland rallied from a 12-point second half deficit and tied the game at 60 on a three-pointer by
Bailey Grayvold (
So.-Norway, Mich.) with 2:17 to play, but couldn't get over the hump in the final two minutes.
Kayla Clark (
So.-West Bend, Wis.) scored 12 points and added six assists and
Maddy Doll (
Fr.-Florence, Wis.) and
Rachel Stankevich (
Fr.-Goodman, Wis.) both chipped in 10 points each.
Rockford comes in with the same 2-10 overall record and is 1-6 in conference play. The Regents gave Concordia Wisconsin a battle on Saturday before falling 65-56 in Mequon, as the Falcons outscored Rockford 24-15 over the game's final 10 minutes.
