CUW Ken Weidt Classic Results PDF
Kevon Holbrook (
Jr.-Kankakee, Ill.) posted a new personal best in the eight kilometers to again lead the Lakeland University men's and women's cross country teams at the Ken Weidt Classic hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday on the CUW campus in Mequon.
Holbrook finished in a shade over 29 minutes (29:00.5) to finish 23rd individually in the men's race. He topped his previous best by more than 19 seconds and was better than two minutes faster than his time on the same course two years earlier as a freshman.
Holbrook led a group of seven men's and women's runners to compete for Lakeland, including four men and three women.
Noah Lutzke (
So.-Orfordville, Wis.) joined Holbrook in the men's race, finishing 38th with a time of 30:06.6.
Sam Scharenbroch (
So.-Sheboygan, Wis.) also finished in 33:26.0 for 54th, and
Rhett Botzet (
So.-Appleton, Wis.) was six spots behind him finishing in 34:43.7.
Nathalie Cairo (
Sr.-Kenosha, Wis.) paced the Muskies women's team, finishing 40th individually with a time of 28:45.8.
Kayla Bruton (
Sr.-Milwaukee, Wis.) was four spots behind and finished the 6K in 29:44.2.
Emily Petersen (
Sr.-Menominee, Mich.) also finished 58th in 31:25.5.
Lakeland next week will be at the Tom Hoffman Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater, to take place on the Whitewater campus. The women's race will start at 10 a.m. with the men's to follow at 10:45 a.m.
