RIVER GROVE, Ill. – Evan Haferkorn (So.-Norway, Mich.) and Fulton Stroud (Fr.-Iron Mountain, Mich.) both finished third in their weight classes to lead a series of good finishes as the Lakeland University men's wrestling team competed at the 33rd annual Art Kraft Memorial Tournament hosted by Triton (Ill.) College Saturday.

Haferkorn and Stroud led a total of four Muskies with placing finishes inside the top six in their respective classes. Ten Lakeland wrestlers in all posted at least one win in the team's final event of 2024 before a break from competition over the holidays.

Haferkorn came in third at 165 pounds, posting a 3-1 record on the day that included a pair of pins plus a win by medical forfeit to capture third place. Stroud also went 3-1 at 174 lbs., winning three times by major decision, including an 11-0 defeat of Trevor Streeter of Muskegon (Mich.) Community College in the third-place match.

Dillon Raab (So.-Spalding, Mich.) also won three times, coming in fourth at 157 lbs. He won his first three matches, including a pin of Charles Gross of Elmhurst (Ill.) University in his opener before a loss to Brice Coleman of Indian Hills (Iowa) C.C. in the semifinals.

Diego Morales (So.-Cedar Grove, Wis.) added a sixth-place finish at 285 lbs., also finishing with a 3-2 record. He won twice by decision and added a tech fall win in the consolation semifinals before dropping the consolation final for fifth place.

Lakeland returns to competition in the new year, competing Jan. 4, 2025 in the Battle for the Helmet hosted by North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa.
